Seventh in the nation....just sayin'! Our air rifle marksmanship program is composed of many cadets who receive safety training in class, then have to pass a test with a 100% grade. Once they get certified (middle of the freshman year) they sign up at the senior campus for slots to shoot Monday-Thursday. The varsity team consists of our four best shooters, the JV team of our next four shooters - it's all about the score. We've qualified a team for national competition for 9 years, last year placing 7th among Air Force JROTC teams. Slots on the range can be difficult to secure sometimes so cadets wanting to shoot must be assertive.
No experience is necessary - some of our top shooters have never shot a gun before. Training and practice.
